Keywords:
Clarice Lispector; Life full of adversities; Brazilian literature; Moreira Salles Institute.Abstract
This article portrays the life of Clarice Lispector since her birth as a member of a runaway Jewish family in a remote village in Ukraine, her passage through Alagoas, her life in Rio de Janeiro and as a diplomat's wife, until her consecration as one of the main Brazilian writers of the 20th century. The value of her work is attested by the growing number of new editions and translations of her texts in numerous countries until our days, in addition to the large audience that flocked to the “Constelação Clarice” Exhibition, in 2022, at Instituto Moreira Salles, currently responsible for preserving her personal collection. The conflicts and adversities that marked her life, from beginning to end, and the complexity of her work allow this article to serve only as a tasting for those who have not yet ventured into this universe.
