Vol. 4 No. 01 (2023): Special Edition: Imagens [im]possíveis - Creativity and innovation in Artistic Languages
The present edition of the Revista Iberoamericana de Creativity and
Innovation, a special issue, is dedicated to contemporary artistic creativity.
It presents a set of representative images of an imaginary that can only be
accessed through the confrontation between the viewing public and the works
of art. These are images that do not occur in the phenomenal universe (our
supposed sensible real). They happen from ideas that transform the materiality
of the world – translating everything into a sign.
In this way, we present the record of a powerful curatorial experience: the
[im]possible images exhibition.
In the arc of history, the Arts recognize multiple dimensions. From the divine to
the everyday, from the figurative to the abstract, from manual to technological,
from the real to the dream. Artists, for a long time, have been expressing
themselves through creative images – revealing and subverting their visual
contexts, presenting surprising versions of the nature, the human figure, and the
objects.
The universe of artistic languages [the universe of the imaginary] exposes
difference in this way: the vanguard of culture.
The [im]possible images exhibition took place virtually and linked to the
thematic platform, paths to an (im)possible future, of the 3rd International
Congress of Creativity and Innovation, promoted by the Brazilian Association of
Creativity and Innovation (CRIABRASILIS) in partnership with the Centro
Universitário Braz Cubas, with the aim of presenting an intriguing set of works
of art produced by significant contemporary artists – from Brazil and Portugal.
The creative set, now presented through Artistic Portfolios, contemplates
different geographies, a diversity of generations, career stages and most
importantly, unusual ways of seeing and interpreting the world, of conceiving
and producing language.
Our thanks to Guest Artists: Ana Romero, Angelo Dimitre, Carolina Vigna,
Carol W, Dângela Nunes Abiorana, Franchini, Paula Tavares, Renan Reis,
Teresa Almeida and Zé Marcos Carvalho.
Their artistic actions mobilized and enhanced the thematic platform of the 3rd
CICI. In addition to texts and through images, they offer us works of art idealized
and produced through the cracks of the real – sensitive/sensorial,
objective/subjective, material/immaterial... (im)possible.
