Considering that creativity is a potential present in all individuals, this study sought to examine the relationship between this construct and grit in adolescents and adults. It is part of an investigation into the validity of a divergent type of creativity assessment test based on external variables. The sample consisted of 138 individuals aged 18 to 58 years (M = 22.7; SD = 7.8), 78.2% of whom were female, and had a higher education level. The participants completed the Figural Creativity Test for adolescents and adults (TCF-AA) and the Grit Assessment Scale, international version in Portuguese (EAGRIT-LP). By using Spearman's correlation, it was found that there were no significant correlations between the two constructs. Since creativity and grit were not demonstrated to be related in the present study, validity evidence was confirmed.
