Abstract

In a context of growing use of Artificial Intelligence for diverse purposes, the number of emerging possibilities for applying these tools in the educational landscape is remarkable. From this perspective, this study aims to establish prompts that contribute to the creation/adaptation of problems to stimulate critical and creative thinking in mathematics, based on the assessment matrix for critical and creative thinking materials in mathematics. The developed prompts were applied to four questions from different sources to verify, in light of the aforementioned matrix, whether the AI proved effective for the proposed objective. The results revealed that AI has strengths and weaknesses for creating and adapting problems, paving the way for further studies on the topic.
