Creativity, innovation and disability: analysis of the Brazilian scientific production

Abstract

This research aimed analyze the national scientific production about creativity, innovation and disability,
through the respective descriptors in the bases BVS-Psi, Scielo and Capes. A total of 34 publications were
selected, with the inclusion criteria being articles, theoretical essays and bibliographic reviews that
addressed the descriptors in any area of knowledge. The prevalence of scientific articles was found, most
of them empirical studies. The publications date from 2006 to 2020, with a predominance of the Southeast
region. The studies showed the area of Education as correlate major. Visual impairment was the most
addressed. The dominant research instruments were observation, interview and questionnaire. Finally, it was
found that the gaps brought up in the publications point to the importance of studies related to creativity
and innovation aimed at the inclusion of people with disabilities. It is hoped that this review will guide those
interested in the area to conduct future studies.
