Abstract

This study was conducted as part of the investigation into the psychometric qualities of an instrument for the assessment of figural creativity available for children and in a study to extend its age range of use. We examined the frequency of answers provided by participants to a test of figural creativity in two groups, one composed of children and one composed of adults, in order to determine if the characteristic of originality, that is, the list of common responses commonly provided by participants, differs with their age. According to the survey of common responses (providing more than 5% of the sample), despite the fact that both groups provided equal responses, the majority of them were considered common in only one sample. Based on the results of this study, it is clear that the originality correction sieve should be prepared based on the answers provided by the target audience.
